9 Reasons to Stay at Bali Mandira on Your Next Trip to Bali

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please read the full disclosure policy here.

So one evening in July, I was sitting doing some late-night blog stuff at my parents’ house when I received an email from Bali Mandira. They were offering me a complimentary two-night stay in their new Mandira Club Suite. It’s like they read my mind and knew I was visiting in August! My mum was fortunately able to join me and we ended up having an amazing couple of days at Bali Mandira last month. So much so, my mum is already telling my dad they’re returning next year. In case you’re searching for accommodation in Bali, here are nine reasons why I highly recommend staying at Bali Mandira.

WHY YOU SHOULD STAY AT BALI MANDIRA

TO STAY IN THE MARVELLOUS MANDIRA CLUB SUITE

Guys, this is hands down the nicest hotel room/suite I’ve ever stayed in. I absolutely loved the modern beach-inspired decor inside the Mandira Club Suite. As you enter, there’s a large daybed with sliding glass doors. Then there’s the super king-size canopy bed, which is as large as it is comfortable.

Continuing on, there’s the bathroom, with its rain shower, Moroccan-inspired tiles and separate bath. It was also the little details I fell in love with inside the Mandira Club Suite, like the candles above the bath for honeymooners, an in-room coffee pod machine, a turndown service with treats, as well as a complimentary minibar, which is restocked daily. If you want to treat yourself in Bali, I couldn’t recommend the Club Suite at Bali Mandira more.

BECAUSE IT’S VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY

Bali Mandira’s target market is Australians and there were quite a few Aussie families enjoying the glorious pool when we visited. There is also an amazing kids’ club, babysitting service and family-friendly events, like movie nights. To be honest, when we were younger, my brother and I would have spent hours swimming in the pool. There’s a waterfall, a spa area, a sandy beach part AND two waterslides. It’s the pool of your dreams, basically.

Clearly not enjoying myself…

FOR THE CLUB LOUNGE BENEFITS

Bali Mandira’s Club Lounge is such a fantastic (and luxurious) addition to the hotel. As we were staying in the Mandira Club Suite, we got access to the Club Lounge and its benefits. This includes free soft drinks, snacks, and tea and coffee throughout the day. There’s also an afternoon tea and a cocktail hour daily. Mum and I made the most of the cocktail hour and sampled a few different options. We also returned for ice-cream following our dinner at Azul Beach Club.

TO ENJOY AZUL BEACH CLUB

Speaking of… connected to Bali Mandira is Azul Beach Club, which we visited for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Tipsy Tea. Firstly, the stylish two-storey restaurant and Tiki Bar is located opposite Legian Beach. This means it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset every evening. It has a modern menu and contemporary cocktail list, as well as an adults-only swimming pool. What more could you want? We had breakfast at Azul Beach Club as part of our Club Lounge benefits and I still think about the delicious French toast I devoured.

Tipsy Tea is also a fun initiative and a great activity to do with girlfriends in Bali. Because yes, the teas are spiked (both warm and iced), and they’re accompanied by sweet and savoury treats. Anyone can visit Azul Beach Club and my mum wants me to mention that a delicious cup of espresso coffee can be purchased for $2.50 as well.

FOR THE FRIENDLY STAFF

Every staff member you walk past at Bali Mandira will greet you with a hello and genuine smile. It’s so refreshing seeing people happy and enjoying their jobs. From Azul Beach Club to the Club Lounge to the reception, everyone was super welcoming and friendly.

BECAUSE THERE’S AN AMAZING ONSITE SPA

Now, I know the streets of Bali are lined with spas. BUT, for a more luxurious spa experience, you need to check out Glow Spa at Bali Mandira. As we waited for our treatment (sipping our complimentary iced teas, of course), a couple came out from their treatments and immediately rebooked for a couple of days later. My mum and I each had a Balinese aromatherapy massage, where you choose what oil you want used in your treatment. I like my massages to be relaxing and I wasn’t disappointed. However, my Mum like her massages very strong and she had an excellent remedial massage. Side note: you don’t have to be a guest to enjoy the benefits of Glow Spa either.

IT’S IN THE PERFECT LOCATION

Legian will always be one of my favourite places to stay in Bali. It’s where I stayed with my parents for most of my 20s. We also have friends on the beach we like to visit each trip. Bali Mandira is located opposite Legian Beach at the end of Jl Padma. I love this area, as there are so many restaurants and fixed-price shops along Garlic Lane. I shared this in my travel tips post, but don’t miss a visit to Ketut’s when staying at Bali Mandira 😉 .

FOR THE FOODIE OPTIONS

Bali Mandira has three restaurant options available. There’s the Celagi Restaurant, the beachfront Barong Bar and of course, Azul Beach Club. Although we had most of our meals at Azul Beach Club, we did a cooking class at the Celagi Restaurant, which can be arranged any day during your stay.  Alongside their head chef, we learned how to make grilled prawns with a garlic and lemon butter sauce. OMG, it tasted as good as it sounds 🤤.

BECAUSE IT’S FUN

One thing that sets Bali Mandira apart from other hotels in Legian (and Bali) is its events. There’s always something happening, whether that’s early morning yoga classes, traditional Balinese dance performances or a night market. Plus, Barong Bar and Azul Beach Club host events weekly as well. You can have the most fun Balinese holiday without leaving your hotel 👌🏻.

As you can see, my mum and I absolutely loved our experience staying at Bali Mandira. Now I just have to work out how I can stay in the Mandira Club Suite on my next trip to Bali 😉. Thanks Bali Mandira for the unforgettable stay!

A little fun finale 🤣

P.S. Don’t just take my word for it – check out the stellar reviews for Bali Mandira on TripAdvisor and Booking.com.
